Perry Flaugh-Founder and Master Distiller
Perry Flaugh is the founder and master distiller of The 814 Distillery, where science meets spirit. With a background in chemistry and a 25-year career in the legal profession, Perry brings a unique blend of precision, discipline, and creativity to the art of distilling. After decades in the legal world, he found himself craving a new challenge—one that let him reconnect with his roots in science but in a far more enjoyable and hands-on way. That journey led to the creation of The 814 Distillery, where he applies his chemistry expertise to craft high-quality, small-batch spirits. For Perry, distilling is not just a profession—it’s a return to his passion, fueled by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a dash of rebellion against the ordinary.
Tom Manion- Co-Founder
Tom Manion is a co-founder of 814 Distillery and a retired veteran of the Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Enforcement. After years spent upholding the laws around alcohol, Tom now jokes that he's joined the "dark side"—crafting the very spirits he once regulated. With deep knowledge of the industry from the enforcement side, Tom brings a unique perspective and sharp attention to detail to 814’s operations. His transition from regulator to distiller adds a twist of irony—and a lot of experience—to the 814 story.
